Jesse Fischer

is an American photographer, art director, and graphic designer whose work helped define the visual language of 1990s skate and punk counterculture. Getting his start in Northern California making DIY skate zines and working in the darkroom at Thrasher Magazine, Fischer relocated to Los Angeles in 1994 to become the head Art Director and Photographer for Epitaph Records.

During his career, he photographed and designed genre-defining album covers, most notably Rancid’s seminal ...And Out Come the Wolves, NOFX’s Pump Up the Valuum, and Machine Head’s Burn My Eyes. His commercial and editorial work spans labels like Fat Wreck Chords, Hellcat, and Interscope, with images appearing in Rolling Stone, Spin, and The New Yorker. Fischer’s portraits capture cultural icons from the Ramones to Motörhead, and his career was highlighted in a 2024 solo exhibition, Photohead, at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas. Based in Los Angeles, he continues to shoot internationally, focusing on editorial portraiture and documenting veteran tattoo artists.
